Formentor Named in Top 3 Best European Beaches

Flight Network, a leading internet search engine and travel site, asked over 1,000 travel journalists, agencies, bloggers and editors to weigh in on their picks for the world’s best beaches. Mallorca’s very own Cala Formentor came in at #3 in Europe and #22 worldwide.

With its breathtaking mountain views, white sands and crystal blue water, it’s no huge surprise Formentor, also known as Cala Pi de la Posada, is a local favorite. Additionally, lifeguards are on patrol from mid-May until mid-October, making it easy for the whole family to relax and enjoy.

Dotted with luxury hotels, beach chairs are available for rent. But beware, they range wildly in price, so stay alert to signage and double-check prices before committing.

Located at the northeast tip of the island, it is about an hour’s easy drive from Palma. Public transport is also readily available to the beach, for those who prefer to let someone else do the driving!
